i have good and bad news....

the good news are: i discovered a way, that, i can simply change a line of code, and store all the users data on a server, that would be like a database

the bad news are: all the work i did of the cookies, well, i figure out theat they were evil, i overcooked them... threw them on the bin, starting all over again...

PostSubject: Re: Saving System   Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:10 pm

well, ive got 2 little problems...

1. i can get to create a user, with a username that the person writes in a text box... heres the code:

Quote :

stop();
//cookie stuff
//cookie creation/opening
var desiredUser = ""
var desiredPassword = ""
var myCookie:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("savegame");
//stablishing vars
register_btn.onRelease = function() {
myCookie.data.username = desiredUsername.text
myCookie.data.password = desiredPassword.text
myCookie.data.coins = 100
myCookie.data.inventorySlot1 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot2 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot3 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot4 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot5 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot6 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot7 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot8 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot9 = "0"
myCookie.data.inventorySlot10 = "0"
myCookie.flush();
_root.error._visible = true
_root.error.errorDescription = "User Created. Username:" + myCookie.data.username + "Password: " + myCookie.data.password
};

also, i cant' get to do a easy thing, but, anyways, it is that whern you click on the box of the beta hats, your money goes up by 10, but, until now, nothing worked... Sad here is the code:

Quote :

on (press) {
_root.object.gotoAndStop(2);
_root.isbeta = true;
}
on (rollOver) {
_root.boxopner.gotoAndPlay(2);
}
//below there is a coin saving test code
on (press) {
var coins = myCookie.data.coins;
myCookie.data.coins++10;
myCookie.flush();
}

everything else is runing fine.... until now....
